Project Overview

Cornerstone CDC is set to bring the West End/Visitation Park plaza project to life. In partnership with Mackey Mitchell Architects, Cornerstone has advanced the weCollab vision of a centralized gathering space, completing the predevelopment work to transform a set of vacant lots at Maple and Goodfellow into a vibrant pocket park.

West End Plaza Pop-up and design considerations

We invited residents to provide feedback on the three design concepts for the land while we played games, drank coffee, and danced in the lot! It was a joyful celebration and great opportunity to preview what an activated gathering space would feel and look like.

“Hosted by Cornerstone STL alongside weCollab STL, Trailnet, Great Rivers Greenway, and Mackey Mitchell Architects, the event featured temporary traffic calming installations, design renderings, and an open invitation for community members to share their ideas and suggestions. The energy was palpable, and the feedback was clear: this space should be safe, welcoming, and designed with the community, not just for it. ”
